Guitar and bass lessons in Thanet, East Kent

Improve your guitar skills with my tutoring for all abilities and ages.

Guitar studio

Lessons are held in my home studio, with plenty of on-street parking available.

Lesson Duration

Lessons are set for a 30, 60 or 120 minute session, usually on a one to one basis but can be shared if preferred.

All parents/carers/friends are welcome to sit in during lesson time.

Looking for a Rockschool tutor?

Rockschool provide an internationally recognised structure of graded examinations in guitar as well as other musical disciplines. I have extensive experience teaching the Rockschool guitar programme (Grades 1-8).

Replay your lesson

Lessons can be recorded onto a DVD which can be played back on most DVD Players or computers, even some game consoles. Parents really like the DVDs because (if their son/daughter allows them to!) it allows them to see how professional the lesson is; seldom do parents ever get to see a lesson in action. But it is primarily for the student, so they can always refresh their memory in-between lessons as well as guide them visually with playing techniques.

Guitar equipment

My students are welcome to use their own guitars but if you prefer, you may use my own professional instruments and amps.

If required, I also hire out guitars and amps, which enables the student or parents a chance to see if they are committed to playing a guitar before buying one. Over the years, many people have ended up with “shiny things in their lofts” when a new idea or adventure didn’t quite pan out!

Which guitar?

If you're unsure whether you wish to start out with an acoustic guitar, electric guitar, or indeed bass, I'll happily give you some guidance and explain the differences both in what you'll learn and what will work best for you. Contact me for further details.
