For the past forty years I have gained extensive experience as a guitarist, performing in over 3,000 shows, with over half a million miles under my belt getting there! The knowledge and understanding of performance and technique, combined with my carefully structured lessons, puts me in a quite unique place to develop any guitarist, from those who have never picked up the instrument before right the way through to those looking to fine tune their technique.

My students cover the full spectrum of age and ability but whatever his or her level, I am able to pass on not only technique development but also a fundamental insight and understanding of the guitar and how to 'connect' with other musicians. For performing guitarists, or those wishing to work at that level, I use my experience to offer guidance for approaching band rehearsals, live performances and recording sessions.

I am located in Thanet, East Kent, so am ideally located for students seeking guitar lessons in Margate, Ramsgate, Canterbury, Broadstairs, Westgate-on-Sea, Birchington or Sandwich.

I've played the guitar on and off for 40 years but haven't felt I've ever made much progress. I needed help to get myself playing with confidence and in the nine months I've been having lessons with Simon, my playing has improved immeasurably, well beyond anything I was able to achieve on my own.

Simon pushes my abilities with each lesson, so I am always moving forwards. We learn new songs but in a planned way, so new techniques are introduced and practiced, making each thing we try feel achievable. My confidence has increased and I have even played for other people, something I'd never have dreamt of doing before.

Simon supplies a DVD of each lesson; an invaluable learning tool as it enables me to play back the full lesson each week, picking up points I would otherwise have missed.

I always look forward to my guitar lesson. Simon is a lovely guy as well as a brilliant guitar player. My only regret is not starting lessons with him years ago.
